I am studying the role of H2A modifications that distinguish the NHEJ pathway from homologous recombination pathways in yeast. I am designing strains that permit creation of defined double strand breaks in different contexts that can be repaired solely by non-homologous repair pathways. I am also performing a genetic screen to identify suppressors of specific defects in H2A.
